January 2006 - Lauren Sammis to Ride Sagacious HF
Lauren Sammis, A US Dressage Federation silver and bronze medalist, has been chosen to ride Sagacious HF, one of Hyperion Farm's premier young horses. Lauren has been riding all her life. Her Dutch immigrant family, the Cornells, lived on the same farm in Poughkeepsie New York before the United States gained its independence and have always owned horses for work and showing.
Lauren's first competitions were in eventing but she was happiest in the dressage phase and decided to switch full time to this discipline at age 17.
As part of learning the show world, she worked for Olympian Lendon Gray and Tina Konyot as well as at Tempel Farms in Illinois. Over the years she has built an extensive network of contacts in both the major dressage centers and off the beaten track to find those rare gems in Germany, Holland, Belgium, France and elsewhere in Europe.
Lauren spends her winters competing and running her sales business in Wellington, Florida, the dressage capital and her summers in Bedminster, New Jersey where she runs a training and dressage sales facility
