June 11, 2005-Lafonsa has a colt.

Our mare, Lafonsa (Hofnar v Astor), gave birth to a beautiful bay colt on June 10, 2005, and the mother and son are doing fine. Lafonsa was imported from Holland in 1999 and began here show career in Wellington the following winter. It soon became apparent that she had something wrong as she would be sound and then slightly off and then sound again. She was finally diagnosed with a calcified hematoma that was pressing on her spinal column. It was removed, but by that time there was permanent damage. She has been a wonderful broodmare, foaling Un Bel Di in 2000, Vermeer HF in 2001 and now her new colt, Attacus.
